For your comfort: The attached neoprene tongue in our Nutrail models gives them their unique slipper-like fit. To get them on and off with maximum ease, you may need to fully loosen the laces. Then tighten them up and feel the shoe form to the top of your foot

        These were my third pair of SOMs. Each one was different from the last. Every shoe has been awesome. I love SOM shoes. This pair is an awesome looking. The tung is different from the other shoes (Nightfall and Trailhead). Even though I love the look of the Nutrail Air I will be going back to the Trailhead because of the tung. All of the shoes I've purchased have been great shoes but I prefer a regular shoe tung.

        Thank you for your input and feedback. The Nutrail Air has that sewn in tongue for several reasons but it doesn't always please all the feet. This is the reason we kept the traditional lacing system so everyone can find his fit. The Nutrail Air lacing system is higher on the foot and creates a feel of less 'shoe presence'. A sensation a lot of people are looking for. But, it does require more work to get in and out of the shoe by loosing up the laces. We have customers who have removed the laces entirely and use them as slip on shoes. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

        Perfect Fit

        I have worn SOM shoes for two years and love them! I ordered these Nutrail Air shoes for my husband. He has bought a foreign made brand similar to the Nutrail Air twice in the last four years. I ordered his usual size of the previous shoe. When the SOM Nutrail Air shoes arrived they fit perfectly! The price was comparable to his old ones.
        My husband is a man of few words. He said, “they are a good shoe.” This is considered a compliment!
